Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany(13)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

I had a good long sleep and now am ready to show you the second set of photos Micha and I took on that long snow walk through the woods.

Remember I stopped at the bridge that didn't reach quite over the water, unsure if to cross it fully or not?

Well, I did. =)
And then we walked on the path of trampled snow along the creek.

Posing at the sign of the spring.

Looking back at he bridge; it looks as if it's sitting in the nowhere between the creek banks.

Another home for me? This wood is full of them.

And then we had to go down steep stairs , all covered with trampled and icy snow. Micha even fell on her behind. Luckily, I wasn't hurt in the bag (and she didn't hurt herself too).

The sound of water was becoming louder and louder until we reached the "Sinterstufen". Some Calcareous sinter over flat stones formed by time. Like a flat waterfall.

One more resting place under an old pear tree.

Looking back at the creek. So full of water now. In Summer, Micha told me, This place had been dry except for a few puddles. And that had been the driest Summer for ages, she had been told by regular hikers at that path. No wonder, the creek down in the village was running so low as well last Summer and is all "back to normal" now.
This part had been dry in Summer.
View from the bench back to where we had come from.

After two and half hours we reached home again.
On the whole hike we met a few people and a few dogs too. But they did not really interest me. I kept hiding in my bag until they were gone.
Only at he spring itself I couldn't avoid them when I investigated it. They sure looked puzzled at us walking around and taking  photos. And they were so loud!

Oh, what an adventure. Looking back, no wonder I fell asleep sorting the photos. So glad, I could take a resting day today.

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (12)

Hello , Mr. Rabbit here again.

I have been a good rabbit.
So, I did get my walk in the snow.
A long walk.
A very long walk.

And I'm very glad that I have my ear warmers and jacket to keep me warm,
and the green bag to carry me when the walking was getting too though for my little rabbit feet.

Micha and I hiked to the "Lillinger Brunnen", a tourist spot close to her home.

The first part of the path I already knew from my very first snow outing. by now we had deeper snow though.

Here the paths separated. I had to climb up a but to read the sign.

We followed the path that got narrower and narrower with trees partly fallen over it.

I could hear the water from the creek that springs off the "Brunnen" and also had the chance of a short glimpse.

But we still had to walk a while in the wood and snow. The path was well trampled.

I wanted to take a rest. Is this a good resting place for rabbits like?

Finally we reached the end of the creek, the Spring right under the rocks. And the water flowing happily spreading all over the place.

There was a bridge to cross the water to reach the other side. The creek though didn't really care about that.

Should I dare cross it? The tourists that had arrived shortly before us didn't; they walked back the way they had come.

I will tell you tomorrow if I did and what happened on the way home.
I'm so tired now. Good night!

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (11)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

No snow photos today. It's all wet and dripping outside.
A little rabbit like me could get easily get covered up by a slip-sliding roof avalanche.
So, I got to visit Micha in the grocery store once more.
Lat time I was there I didn't not get to see all of the store and her work.
If you want to see the first visit:
http://michafire.blogspot.com/2013/02/hello-mr.html

Now have a look at what I found today:

A machine that counts the money in the cash-box before and after the work session.
No endless re-counting when the sums don't match up.

Oh, purple rabbits! In two sizes and with lovely chocolate smell.

And lots of Easter eggs. Nougat, marzipan, liquor filled. All that your belly desires.

My best hiding place. Orange golden rabbits in my size =)).
Just that they are not called rabbit but "Osterhase".
And I've been told they vanish after Easter for about 10 months.
Maybe not such a good hiding place after all.

Time to say goodbye to the store. Hitching a ride on the conveyor.
The woman at the cashier was quite surprised to see me.
"No photos, please, even if he is so cute."
Ah, well you can't please everyone.

Already looking forward to tomorrow; a day without work for Micha.
Lots of snow play time?
Yes?

Please?? Pretty, please?

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (10)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

Amazingly, I'm already here for 10 days and I still have not seen all of the lovely places.
Time flies past so fast with all the activities.
Today, it was a full snow day. Yes, we nearly got snowed in.

View from the computer room just before leaving for work.
The amount of snow fallen was higher than me. 0.0
Even the main traffic road was still snow covered.
So it was rather quiet at Micha's work and I had a bit of time to cuddle with the rabbits there.
A play rabbit for the children visiting the store with their parents.
This little rabbit was made by the daughter of the shop owner and lives on top of the radio;
watching over all of them there working on the sewing machines.
On the way home the roads were all clean again. It was getting  ab it warmer too, all the snow melting. In the next days the temperatures will rise even more.

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (9)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

Another Sunday. But no brunch today.
You might remember that Micha carried me in a green bag on the first snow walk in the woods. I love to be carried around, but posing in the snow does get cold.
And when I was visiting her sewing shop and posed on the buttons, I wanted some of them.
So today, Micha was busy getting me the ear warmers and jacket.
The buttons needed to be fixed on something.

The beginning - in front of the green bag.
Ah - better with the light from the front.
First ear nice tucked in and second started.
Cap is nearly done. But there is so much wool leftover.
Micha knitted me a jacket too. And placed the buttons :  )
I had to go out in the snow to try them out.
Nice and warm. I wonder if the rabbit that made this footprint has a warm coat too? Yes, fur. But not so colorful as mine.
Now, I'm ready for more posing in the snowy nature around Micha's home. I hope she takes me for a long walk soon.

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (8)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

A bit late today.
Saturday is a weekend day.
A day people usually have a bit of free time and don't have to get up so early as during the week for getting to work on time.
And it  is for most also the best day to buy groceries for the coming week (and the weekend should they have run out of food and party things).

So, I visited Micha at the grocery store, where she works a few hours on changing days (and she was there today too from 14.00 until 20.00).
They sure have a lot of stuff there. I sneaked into the shelves to have a closer look at things displayed.
First thing I discovered were all the carrots. YUMMY!!
And fresh flowers, in pots for indoors. It's still too cold and snowy outside for flowers.
They even have prefixed fresh salad in the cool storage. Including but not yet mixed in the salad sauce.
Some special offers; a good allover selection of all the pre-fabricated and packed foods.
And lots of alcohol drinks; here the champagne and bubbly drinks.
And this is only a small selection of the foods you can find here. Again I will need to come back here on another day to explore more.

Mr. Rabbit's Big Adventure - in Germany (7)

Hello, Mr. Rabbit here again.

After the wool and button investigation, Micha and I took a day to travel with the train and take photos.
Well, actually it was three days of train travelling to and from work for about ten minutes each ride.
With the fast changing weather from heavy snow fall to just clouds and then clouds with sunshine the landscape always looked different.
We could have taken many more photos; this here is just a small selection of the best shots.
The home train station of the "Gräfenbergbahn".
Waiting for the train to arrive.

Taking a window seat.

Fields to the right.
Fields and the next village to the left.

At the next  village train station; we are not getting off yet.

More fields and some cables. They follow all along the tracks.
And the sun shining through the morning clouds.

Close to the next station a lonely house
(with people living there).
The next station - they all look alike so much.

An old station house, not in use anymore, at the get-off station for sewing work for Micha.
More fields on the way back home.

Some farm houses and yard with a small bridge going over the creek that is next to the train tracks for part of the way.

More fields and the village again, close to the home station now.

"NO walking beyond this sign."
Seems someone did not abide to it.
Well then , bye bye train. It was fun to ride with you.

I hope you enjoyed the train ride.
Now, time for rest to be ready for the next adventures.
